The company Huiles Berliet was created by 3 associates: the Compagnie Française d'Importation (Automobile Marius Berliet’s usual supplier), Henry Paule (Renault agent) and Henry May (a silk trader). The company positioned itself as one of the forerunners of the original oil concept (Genuine Oil), a concept that was later adopted throughout the world. The first oils were marketed under the CBA name (named after the famous Berliet Trucks) for passenger cars.
Huiles Berliet became a French limited company. Its head office was moved to the premises of Automobile Marius Berliet.
Strong growth in economic activity encouraged the company to strive to meet the various specific requirements of its clients by widening its product range to include: lubricants for trucks, industrial lubricants, oil filters and coolants.
EM and Berliet merged their networks to create the Renault VI Group at the end of the 1970s.
Huiles Berliet played a part in supporting Renault VI’s strategy by creating a new commercial brand: Huiles Renault Diesel.
Huiles Renault Diesel launched their range of innovative fuel saving lubricants - a concept which quickly established itself as a core aspect of the company's strategy.
Renault VI continued to grow at international level and changed its name to Renault Trucks.
The Huiles Renault Diesel brand became Renault Trucks Oils.
The company further widened its range of activities with AdBlue®, designed to meet the requirements of Renault Trucks for reducing emissions. Renault Trucks Oils enjoyed growth at international level, supporting the development of its partner, Renault Trucks, on new markets.
The Renault Trucks Oils brand is now established in 44 countries throughout the world.
